Rick Peng, MD

After completing my cardiothoracic surgery residency, I practiced heart surgery for two years before pursuing my interest in thoracic oncology.

I served as an instructor in the department of thoracic and cardiovascular surgery at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. After an instructorship in Houston, I returned to California and completed a thoracic surgery fellowship at UCLA Medical Center, with a focus in minimally invasive thoracic surgery.

I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2008.

I grew up in Huntington Beach, California and attended the University of California, San Diego where I graduated with a BA in Biochemistry and Cell Biology.
